Abason Loan Program:
Project Duration and Description:
Abason means housing. It is an important need among the 05 (five) basic human needs. PKSF adopts Housing program to build and plan dignified abason in the rural areas for the fulfillment of the basic human needs and to improve their living conditions of the targeted and disadvantaged people. HEED Bangladesh has been selected as partner organization since 2019. It is an ongoing program. Abason program is a supporting program under the Microfinance Program.
Relation between SDG and Abason Program:
Abason program is related with the SDG -11 & 01. SDG -11’s main goal is to make cities inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable and SDG-01’s main goal is to end poverty; in the same way Abason program’s main goal and objective is to create employment opportunity and ensure holistic development of the poor jnd also improve living condition of the municipal and rural areas.

The program is being conducted successfully among the targeted people of rural areas with the aim of achieving the desired goals and objectives. Its popularity is increasing day by day. Many people joined the program for fulfilling their dreams. Key achievement of this program is stated below:
Expectations and achievement:
- A beneficiary doesn’t have the proper knowledge of the land related documents; so this is the first priority to train the people about the documents. 90% of this expectation is achieved.
- 100 percent members were interested to build a new house, while all 76 people were given house loan.
- Support to reduce poverty and create new employment.
Dream of Laxmi Baiddo
Success Story 01: Fulfillment of Rabeya’s Dream:
Rabeya was lived in Kamamgong Upozila village called Saroibari under Moulvibazar District. Her husband name is Abdul Matin. She has 03 Son along with 02 daughters. Rabeya Begum was very poor. They had no suitable place/home where they could live happily. Rabeya Begum’s house was broken. Rainwater easily seeped into their houses. They had to worry about whether the house would collapse during the storm. But they had no extra money to repair or rebuild their homes. They had a dream of build a new house, but due to the financial crisis they could not fulfill their dream.
Once Rabeya Begum heard from her neighbors about a women’s group called Shromojibi Mahila Group of HEED Bangladesh under Kamalgong branch. She also learned that there is an assistance loan program called the Abason Program where they can get low-interest loans to build houses; they only need their own land. Rabeya Begum immediately contacted the Group Chairman and discussed all the details regarding the housing loan. After hearing every detail of the housing loan, Rokeya Begum realized that the rules and regulations of this loan program were so simple that she would be able to repay the loan properly. So after discussing with her husband she joined Shromojibi group. Finally, following all the rules and regulations, she got the housing loan. Within a few days, he received 3 lakh taka in 3 installments to build the house. After getting housing loan from HEED Bangladesh, she includes some of her own savings and fulfills her dream by building her dream house. She is grateful that HEED Bangladesh has given her the opportunity to fulfill her dream. Now they lived happily along with her family members.
Success Story 02: Md. Murshed Alam and his dream House.
Md. Murshed Alam , Father- Md. Alimullah, Wife- Newya Begum lived in the village Niteshwar in Moulibazar District of Sylhet Division. He has 1 daughter along with 2 sons. He is a small farmer. In his small earning he only can survive somehow. He got a hut from his father. He struggled to meet his family’s daily need on his insufficient income, so he could not afford to repair or newly construct/renovate his existing house. His children always feel ashamed of their house and they pressurized their father to build a new house. Both husband and wife were very unhappy as they could not fulfill their children’s requirements. But they always thought that one day they will be able to fulfill their dreams.
One day Md. Murshed Alam heard that there is a men’s group of HEED Bangladesh called Chayanika in Moulvibazar branch. He also heard that housing loans were disbursed from that branch. He immediately contacted the group after hearing about the Abason loan and joined the group. Then after completing inspection procedure and furnishing all required documents, he got 3 lakh taka loan in 3 installments. Currently Md. Morshed Alam is the proud owner of a planned brick house.
He and his family members are very grateful to HEED Bangladesh for helping them fulfill their dreams.
