After that, at present HEED Bangladesh is providing support to the Bhola regional community people to build, maintain and repair their Ships, Boats and Fishing boats, so that they can fulfill their needs and can contribute in the development of the industry.
HEED Dockyard aims to meets the SDG Goal -9:”Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation”. Graphical Overview of HEED Dockyard
Bhola Dockyard restored 63 small fishing boats and 17 medium-sized transport boats between July 2021 and June 2022, exceeding their projected goals. Although Bhola Dockyard is operating efficiently, one of its significant problems is that the majority of its machinery and equipment is outdated. The number of beneficiaries is increasing day by day. The dockyard could generate more revenue if advanced and modern technologies are installed there.
To accommodate the demand of the residents of the Bhola area, for repairs to their medium-sized cargo ships and small fishing boats, more advanced machinery is needed.
Additionally, the Dockyard could produce medium-sized cargo. In the end, the Dockyard could offer the residents of the Bhola region greater services so that they could participate more in economic activities and realize SDG Goal-9 by fostering economic growth.
