HEED Technical Training Center (HTTC) is one of the first training institutes in Bangladesh to provide technical training to the helpless people specifically youths for their self-employment and development. In 1974, InterLife Bangladesh (Former Swedish Free Mission) established the training center on 0.56 Acre of land and it has by now expanded to 4.17 acre. At the outset, it was known as Bhola Technical Training Center (BTTC). It constitutes an administrative building, school building, and staff quarter, modern workshop with two ponds, a large playground and a boundary wall around the compound. InterLife Bangladesh handed over the BTTC to HEED Bangladesh in January, 2003. However, the center got its present name in 2013.
Affiliation: The HTTC has got affiliation from Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) to run courses on a) General Mechanics and b) Machine Tools Operations in 2012. Notably, these two trades were initiated by the then BTTC in 1974.
SSC Vocational Course: Students are enrolled to do SSC (vocational) course with 3 (three) trades of BTEB. The Trades include General Machine, Machine Tools Operations, Computer and Information Technology. After passing SSC Vocational Examination, students can enter any government and non-government technical institutes to do a diploma in any Engineering subjects, or can continue general education up to masters’ level.

Components of HTTC:
There is a dock yard under HTTC which plays a significant socio-economic role in the locality. It serves mainly three purposes – a) repair of fishing boats, b) practical sessions on wielding and fabrication for trainees, and c) used as harbor for fishing and other boats of the locals during natural disasters like cyclone. On an average 10-12 fishing and general boats are repaired per month at the dock yard.
Workshop: The workshop of HTTC offers an excellent opportunity for the HTTC students and trainees to practice what they learn in the classrooms. It is equipped with different machineries and tools such as Lathe, Milling, Shaper, Grinding, Sawing, Drilling etc. On the other hand, it is also means of a source of income as the HTTC staff and trainees do car repairing of cars, motorbikes and different machines of government offices, NGOs and other departments.
